Find the right composer for your next project

• The project and the performers: instruments, voices and ensemble size.
• The length of the work, text or language, and any practical requirements.
• Your timeline: delivery date, rehearsals and proposed premiere.
• Your budget, including the composer’s fee and any other costs.
• Who leads the project and how to contact them.

These details give you and the composer a concrete starting point.

A direct commission begins with an approach to a particular composer. An open call invites responses to a published brief, with a deadline and a clear selection process.

Our pilot conversation focuses on your brief, timeline and budget. It is not an application service or a promise to secure a composer.

A joint commission brings partners together to share the cost and first performances of a new work. Agree the lead commissioner, each partner’s contribution and the composer’s fee.

The commissioner arranges the work; a supporter or funder helps make it possible. Funder acknowledgements are separate from composer and publisher credits. Sponsorship and promotion fees are separate from money paid to the artist.

Public calls, applications and composer matching are not open. We do not accept applications or allocate grants through this site.
